Terms of Service

1. Description of Service

TileToday is a location-based game in which the Earth is divided into a grid of 50m × 50m squares. Users physically travel to locations and use GPS to claim squares, which are then displayed on a shared map. Claimed squares can be personalised with a description and a link.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Accounts

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You may not share your account or allow others to access it.
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account and keep it up to date.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You may delete your account at any time via your account settings.

4. Claiming Squares

Claims are verified using your device's GPS. By submitting a claim, you confirm that you are physically present within the square you are claiming at the time of the claim.

• No GPS spoofing. Using fake GPS coordinates, location mocking apps, emulators, or any other method to falsify your location is strictly prohibited and grounds for immediate account termination.
• No automation. You may not use scripts, bots, or automated tools to submit claims.
• No multi-accounting. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent daily claim limits is prohibited.
• Daily claim limits are enforced per account and are subject to change.

5. User Content

You may add descriptions and links to tiles you own ("User Content"). By submitting User Content you grant TileToday a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display and distribute it as part of the Service.

You agree that your User Content will not:

• Be false, misleading, or deceptive.
• Be defamatory, harassing, threatening, or abusive towards any person.
• Contain or link to illegal content, malware, phishing pages, or content that violates anyone's rights.
• Infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.
• Contain spam, unsolicited advertising, or pyramid scheme promotions.
• Violate any applicable law or regulation.

We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms without notice.

6. Prohibited Conduct

In addition to the rules above, you agree not to:

• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, its servers, or databases.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service.
• Transmit any viruses, malware, or other harmful code.
• Harvest other users' data or personal information from the Service.
• Use the Service for any commercial purpose other than as expressly permitted (e.g. advertising via tile links is permitted within the User Content rules above).

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, software, and content (excluding User Content and map tiles), is owned by TileToday and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our prior written permission.

Map tiles are provided by CARTO under their terms. OpenStreetMap data is © OpenStreetMap contributors under the Open Database Licence.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

TileToday is not responsible for any URLs, descriptions, or other content posted by users on the map. Links posted by users lead to third-party sites; we have no control over and accept no responsibility for their content.

Using TileToday may involve physical activity outdoors. You are responsible for your own safety when travelling to claim squares. TileToday accepts no liability for any injury, accident, or harm arising from your use of the Service in the real world.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TILETODAY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, without notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to other users, the Service, or third parties. You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account via your account settings.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date and, for significant changes, notify you by email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
